EQUIPMENT

Good quality equipment can make the difference.
Layered clothing is better than one heavy coat.

  • Warm coat or outer shell
  • Polar fleece top
  • Pair of gloves
  • Pair of warm mitts (deer)
  • Pair of indoor shoes or slippers
  • Warm cap or toque (covers ears) (solid red, orange or yellow)
  • Camera or video camera, lots of film
  • Rifle/ammunition
  • Binoculars
  • Knife
  • Flashlight
  • Day pack
  • Personal items
  • Toiletries
  • Warm boots – extreme cold (deer)

We have some white cover ups at camp, but if you prefer to bring your own outer suit of red, orange or white please feel free to do so.

If you have a cell phone it is a good idea to bring it with you to the blind for an alternative source of communication.

November is the time for warm clothing such as boots, mitts and outer wear. Deer hunts require warm boots and good long underwear along with outer clothing. Temperatures range anywhere from 30 ° to -20 ° Fahrenheit (0 to -30 ° Celsius)

Layering your clothing makes the most sense for hunting as you can adjust your clothing quickly to suit the temperature.

Bring the best equipment you can afford. A lot of gadgets are not necessary.

Boots should be of good quality.

When packing, put your gear into a couple of standard size duffel bags and backpack. That way if one becomes lost you still have enough equipment to get your hunt started. A strong gun case is needed to prevent airline damage. Your camera, binoculars are better off in a carry-on bag.

US RESIDENTS MUST BRING IDENTIFICATION INCLUDING TWO OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Passport (MANDATORY AS OF 2006)
  • Driver’s License/Photo ID
  • Birth Certificate
